Retromotorman
(Just another wreck in the car park of life!)
projects
Volvo 142, 1968, 39,000, two owners from new. £325
The car was bought with the intention of creating a T5 project, however, as I started to research the project it became clear that this was no ordinary car. Only very few were ever imported to the uk and only very few survived. It is understood at the time of writing that only 10 to 15 survive in original right hand drive form. This brought disgruntled mutterings not only from the VOC but also other performance clubs about cutting up yet another one! So, I had to change my plans somewhat as I realised I myself no longer wanted to be the one to perform the first cut! I decided to go for the rally rep look, or at leased a hillclinb car, and to use only mod's that could be reversed, also I am keeping any parts that I remove just in case some one wanted to reassemble the car.

Ford Capri 1969, 57,000, three owners from new. £300
This is were it all started, the car I bought to stop me going mad!! Again, there are not many 69 Capri's left, but this was never intended to be a competition car, just a road car..... well nearly! I started with the idea that the car should be restored back to standard as it's former owner had intended. He had lovingly dismantled her, tagging every part to identify were it came from. However, I now have decided to fit a Lotus 2.2 and retrim the car as a Lotus Capri, the one ford should have made! The project has now been relegated to make way for the Volvo, but is next on the agenda, unless the volvo 240 T5 gets in the way? But that, as they say ia another story!
