Retromotorman
(Just another wreck in the car park of life!)
Ok, the Capri was good for it's age however there is still some work, this is mainly to the front bulkhead, strut top, 'A' post and chassis, the worst of which was the drivers side as pictured below.
It actually looks worse than it is, well maybe not on second thoughts, all the sections were plated with whatever I had laying around, however I managed to find a guy on ebay who made and sold the outriggers for £13 each so I got a couple as I can't make things like that in any sensible time, and the quality was great as you can see. You can also see I have rebuilt the drivers side and reinforced the strut top, seam welded and gusseted the front chassis legs of the car for added strength. The car will be stitched on the seams inside and out, a long job but worth it as you never know what power you might on day put through it.
Because I had the fore thought of making a spit, life was made a great deal easyer. I made the spit myself because as I say I'm tight, and because my son is a scaffold and got me some knackered tube for... you've guessed it, nowt! It works really well as I fitted some castors to it for ease of movement seen below.
If you want the dimensions drop me a note and I will gladly sort it for you.
